Plaid Bunnies

It was Easter time and I created a bunny using complimentary colors.  Most plaid that is seen is made up of complimentary colors so we created plaid bunnies.  I used red and green as my complimentary colors.  The paint that was used was watered down tempera paint.  When creating the plaid pattern I made sure that I used different thickness of lines.  The lines were created first on a white piece of construction paper.  After the paint was dry I traced the bunny and cut it out.  Then glued the bunny together on construction paper and cut it out leaving a little boarder.  After the bunny was put together I drew a face and added a cotton ball as its tall.

Extension Activity
Have the students go on a scavenger hunt!  Have them search for items that have plaid patterns.  They can take pictures and create a collages of plaid.
